Dated 22.07.2010 Approval of Follow-on Public Offer for Power Grid Corporation of India Limited

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on 22.07.2010 approved the Follow-on Public Offer (FPO) of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) of 84,17,68,246 (Eighty Four crore seventeen lakh sixty eight thousand two hundred forty six) Equity shares of Rs.10 each constituting 20% of existing paid-up capital. This comprises fresh issue of 42,08,84,123 Equity Shares (10% of existing paid-up capital) and offer for Sale (Disinvestment) of 42,08,84,123 Equity Shares (10% of existing paid-up capital) by selling Shareholder and additional resources generated through the issue of an FPO will be utilized by PGCIL.

Dated 22.07.2010 Inclusion/amendment in the Central Lists of OBCs in respect of Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Rajasthan and the Union Territory of Daman & Diu approved

On the recommendation of the National Commission for Backward Classes the Union Cabinet on 22.07.2010 accorded approval for inclusion/amendment of the names of the castes and communities in the Central Lists of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in respect of Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Rajasthan and the Union Territory of Daman & Diu.

RBI issued Master Circular on 01.07.2010 consolidating the existing instructions on the subject of "Non-Resident Ordinary Rupee (NRO) Account" .This Master Circular is being issued with a sunset clause of one year.

Master Circular No. 09/2010-11 Dated 01.07.2010- Master Circular on Money Transfer Service Scheme

RBI issued Master Circular on 01.07.2010 consolidating the existing instructions on the subject of "Money Transfer Service Scheme" . This Master Circular is issued with a sunset clause of one year. The list of circulars/ notifications has been provided for reference.

Master Circular No. 07/2010-11 Dated 01.07.2010- Master Circular on Compounding of Contraventions under FEMA, 1999

RBI issued Master Circular on 01.07.2010 consolidating the existing instructions on the subject of "Compounding of Contraventions under FEMA, 1999" .This Master Circular is being issued with a sunset clause of one year.This circular will stand withdrawn on July 1, 2011 and be replaced by an updated Master Circular on the subject.

Notification No. SO1631(E) Dated 08.07.2010- Composition of National Advisory Councils

In exercise of the power conferred by Sub -Section (1) of Section 33 of the Right Of Children To Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 Read with Rule 29 of the the Right Of Children To Free and Compulsory Education Rule 2010 the Central Government constituted the National Advisory Council comprising of Chairperson ,Ex- Officio Members and Nominated Members.

Upon the approval of Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) vide its letter No. 4/9/2010-EO (S.M.-II) dated 30th April, 2010, the President of India appointed Prof. Mushirul Hasan, as Director General, National Archives of India, Ministry of Culture.

Reserve Bank Of India granted permission to domestic scheduled commercial banks (other than RRBs) to open mobile branches in Tier 3 to Tier 6 centres (with population upto 49,999 as per Census 2001) and in rural, semi urban and urban centres in the North Eastern States and Sikkim.
